Why did I join Scentsy? The easy answer is money. But there is so many more reasons.
As a disabled, stay at home mom, I was only bringing in so much income with my SSDI. My husband works hard and I felt the ineed to contribute a bit more.
When my sponsor posted that she had a kit available at a discounted price, I reached out. What could it hurt? I was soe ding a small fortune on the products each month anyway, I might as well get paid for it. I took the leap. I had tried direct sales before, selling both Lia Sophia (a no defunct jewelry company) and Mary Kay. I failed miserably at both. I was unable to keep the required inventory on hand, and people only need so much of that kind of stuff. Scentsy is different. It is a consumable product, meaning it gets used up and needs replaced. They also do not require you to keep any inventory on hand (they actually prefer you don't) and you only need to sell $200 every 4 months! This sounded like something I could do. Within a week of signing up, I was "active", meaning I had $200 in sales for the month. Om, maybe I COULD do this. I recently had my first $2000 month. The feeling when you see that number....wow. I cried. Christmas shopping was suddenly so much easier, as my commissions on that alone was over $600!
The friendships I have made, tho long distance and mostly thru the internet, have become some of the best I have ever had. I have gained confidence. I have started to believe in myself again. I even went LIVE on Facebook, promoting Scentsy and talking about some of our products. That's something I'd normally never do! I have gained knowledge and time management skills.
